●I propose to conduct Invitational Sports Tournaments by inviting teams from all over West Bengal to help our contingent get accustomed with the home ground situations before the 54th Inter IIT Sports Meet
●I propose to introduce E-sport as an open IIT tournament to be in tune with the growing culture of E-sports all over the world and to provide a platform to the students of IIT Kharagpur in this field
●I propose to introduce proper changing rooms and washrooms for girls at various sports grounds and courts.
PROPOSAL
I propose to conduct Invitational Sports Tournaments by inviting teams from all over West Bengal to help our contingent get accustomed with the home ground situations before the 54th Inter IIT Sports Meet.
What I have planned to do
●Have tournaments in each sport to understand the home ground situation in real scenarios.
●The tournaments would be conducted on different weekends throughout the semester for different sports.
Benefits
●Players will have the opportunity to play a tournament on their home ground before the Inter IIT Sports Meet which would help them get accustomed to the home ground and would also enhance their pressure handling ability.
●Exposure to various state, nationals, railways and university teams of West Bengal.
Conclusion
This proposal will fulfil the necessity of playing on the newly constructed sports infrastructure before the 54th Inter IIT Sports Meet and will give the advantage of having experience on the home ground over other IIT’s sports contingents.
PROPOSAL
I propose to introduce E-sport as an open IIT tournament to be in tune with the growing culture of E-sports all over the world and to provide a platform to the students of IIT Kharagpur in this field.
Objective
●To provide the necessary platform and exposure in the field of E-sports for the students of IIT Kharagpur.
Vision
●To have the participation of IIT Kharagpur students in the various international E-sports tournaments organized by the International esport federation in future.
●To have a subcommittee with an allocated budget forE-sports in future.
I recently conducted a survey among 153 students of IIT Kharagpur to take their views on the introduction of E-sports in IIT Kharagpur.
Here are the statistics of the survey conducted:-
Q1.) Do you play video games in your free time?
Q2.) Do you feel that it is necessary to have a platform for the students of IIT Kharagpur to showcase their talent in E-sports?
Q3.) Do you feel that introducing E-sports tournament will reduce the involvement of students in physical activities?
Current Scenario
●A huge community of students amongst us who practice E-sports on a regular basis don’t get proper recognition due to lack of a proper platform for them to display their talent.
●E-sports is being recognized all over the world, it was featured in the 2018 Asian games as a demonstration sport and it will be a medal event in 2022 Asian games.
●According to International E-sports federation, Paris 2024 Olympics organisers are in deep talks to include E-sports as a demonstration sport.
My plans to conduct this event
●I have planned to implement E-sports open IIT tournament which would have participants from all the halls of residence.
●All the events under this tournament will be held under the official norms of the International E-sportfederation.
●One in-charge will be made amongst the secretaries of Sports & Games Committee to conduct the tournament.
●The game(s) to be played in this tournament would be decided in a meeting with a representative from each hall of residence and representatives from Sports & Games Committee, TSG.
Benefits
●Platform for the student community to show their talent in the field of E-sports
●Introducing E-sport Open IIT tournament will lead to the formation of more active groups amongst the student community which will eventually help them in socializing.
Conclusion
The implementation of this proposal will provide the necessary platform to the students of IIT Kharagpur in the field of esports, will help students in socializing and will also encourage international tournament participation.

CURRENT SCENARIO
I recently conducted a survey among 136 studets regarding the conditions & availabilty of sanitation facilities and changing rooms at various sports fields & courts.

●Jnan Ghosh Stadium
What I have planned to do:-
●Have proper changing rooms and washrooms for girls at various sports grounds and courts by coordinating with the Civil Construction and Maintenance Section.
●Ensure proper maintenance of the existing washrooms by coordinating with the working staff and maintaining a check on it by keeping a proper record of the cleaning work on a regular basis.
